Spring Break HEAT Service Please note the following changes in HEAT service during area college Spring Break vacations:
March 8-12: Route 75 service will be reduced to one bus for the NC A&T University area. March 11-12: Route 74 will not provide service and Route 70 will not serve GTCC Wendover Campus.
During this time all GTA routes will run normally and your fare-free access to GTA routes will continue.

* * * GTA News * * * GTA Limited English Proficiency Plan Draft Available for Review The Public Transportation Division of the City's Department of Transportation has prepared a plan to address the needs of limited English proficient (LEP) residents who want to use public transportation. Read the document here or at the GTA Administrative Offices, 320 E. Friendly Ave. A public meeting will be held at 6 pm Monday, April 19, at the GTA offices to gather input for the plan. A translated copy of the plan is available upon request. If language assistance is needed for the public meeting, contact us with your request at 412-6309.
Program of Projects for FTA and NCDOT Funding Annually, the City of Greensboro applies for Federal Transit Administration and NC Department of Transportation funding to support the City's public transportation program and Greensboro Transit Authority (GTA). GTA will hold a public meeting about this funding at 6 pm Tuesday, April 6, in Council Chamber of the Melvin Municipal Office Building. Review the Program of Projects.
Join GTA and PART - Take the Triad Commute Challenge! Tired of hearing about problems with pollution and traffic congestion? Now's the time to do something about it! Take the Triad Commute Challenge and help clear our air! Simply pledge to try an alternative form of travel for your commute at least once between April 10 and July 10. WiFi Hot Spot Comes to the Depot Patrons of the J. Douglas Galyon Depot's GTA waiting areas now have access to free WiFi service. Persons with laptops, iPods or other devices can connect at either of the GTA waiting rooms, as well as the outside patio area. To surf the Web for GTA and HEAT information or any other Internet resources, open your browser and agree to the terms of service. Internet access is subject to the same restrictions as all other City of Greensboro public WiFi access locations. GTA Targets H1N1 Prevention Winter is coming and so is the flu! Transit Services Plan Download GTA's current GTA Prepares for New Home information. The City's Public Transportation Division is preparing to begin construction on a new 64,000 square foot administration and maintenance facility. Located on West Meadowview Road in South Greensboro, the 17.5 acres will offer space for GTA's current and future capacity needs. Construction is projected to be complete in early 2011. Make sure to visit GTA's flickr site to follow the construction progress.
GTA Monthly Board Meetings Held in City Council Chambers Monthly meetings of the Greensboro Transit Authority Board take place in City Council Chamber in the Melvin Municipal Office Building (City Hall). Meetings begin at 6 pm, unless otherwise noted. Parking is available in the Church Street Parking Deck. GTA Monthly Board Briefings are held at GTA Administrative Offices at 320 E. Friendly Ave.
