H. Clinton Taylor Art Gallery at NC A and T Univer

The H. C. Taylor Gallery at North Carolina A & T State University was named for Henry Clinton Taylor, founder of the University's Art Department and chairman for 28 years. Taylor opened a gallery in the basement of the Dudley Building in 1956 to exhibit works by American artists. In the nearly five decades since, the gallery has emerged as a showcase for world and African American art. A & T' s collection of African American works now includes pieces by Romare Bearden, John Biggers, Lois Mailou Jones, Sam Gilliam and Varnett P. Honeywood.

The North Carolina Pottery Center

Theatre Art Galleries (TAG) hosts exhibitions of contemporary visual art, from traditional to experimental. TAG has been the sole independent nonprofit provider of the visual arts in High Point since the opening of the High Point Theatre facility in 1975. Includes Youth Gallery: Kaleidoscope Youth Gallery provides an art education and exhibition space specifically designed for children and their families, enabling them to develop their full creative potential through the visual arts.
