Greensboro Parks & Recreation Commission

On November 7, 1933, the Greensboro City Council passed an ordinance that created the first Recreation Commission. This commission became instrumental in forming the Greensboro Parks & Recreation Department. Today, this nine-member commission serves in an advisory capacity to the Parks & Recreation Department, the Greensboro City Council and as liaison between these groups and the citizenry. The Greensboro Parks & Recreation Commission meets the second Wednesday of each month. Meetings are open to the public.
