About the Market

Shoppers at the Greensboro Farmers' Curb Market
The origins of the Greensboro Farmers' Curb Market date back to 1874, making it one of the oldest markets in North Carolina. On any Saturday morning during the summer, the Market is one of the busiest places in the city. It is a festive and friendly place where shoppers stop and chat with friends and buy fresh fruits and vegetables directly from the farmers who grow them. Customers can also find dairy products, home-baked goods, North Carolina seafood, pork, beef and chicken, fresh-cut flowers, potted and bedding plants, and hand-crafted items at the Market.

Shoppers at the Greensboro Farmers' Curb MarketThe Market is housed in the old National Guard Armory building across from War Memorial Stadium and is a place where the community comes together -- all ages, classes, cultures, and ethnic groups, new customers and those who have come to the market for years. The Market, a weekly tradition for many families and individuals, has second and third generation vendors and customers.
