Recycling in Greensboro February 9, 6:30-7:30 pm Cost: Free, Ages 6 and older This class covers the importance of recycling, what happens to the recyclable materials when they leave the recycling center, and what Greensboro’s recycling program looks like. This free workshop has no prerequisites.
Living the Wildlife Series - Snakes are Beautiful February 15, 10-11 am Cost: Free, All ages Have you ever been gardening and put your hands on a large hairy spider in a wood shed or brush pile? Is it a harmless wolf spider or a dangerous brown recluse? Were you raised to kill a snake on sight “just to be safe,” in case it is poisonous? Let us show you the truth about the snakes and spiders of NC. Learn the telltale signs that will help you identify a poisonous snake or spider vs. a harmless one. You will have the chance to see and handle some of the snakes that are most commonly (and unfairly) mistaken for dangerous ones. We will also cover what to do if you are bitten by a snake or spider.

History of Bur-Mil Park Established in 1989 through the purchase of the former Burlington Industries recreation facility, this 250-acre park adjacent to Lake Brandt provides a wide variety of recreational opportunities to Guilford County residents.
