High Point Road Strategic Plan -- The Greensboro Police Department has developed a strategic plan to address the moderate, recent increase in crime along the High Point Road corridor. Read the plan. 

Arrest -- Greensboro Police have arrested a suspect in connection with several sexual assault cases that have occurred during the past seven months. Police arrested Calvin Gerod Allen, 23, and charged him with two counts of first-degree rape, four counts of first-degree forcible sex offense, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, attempted murder, maiming of the eye, assault inflicting serious injury, two counts of assault on a female, second-degree kidnapping, and assault with a deadly weapon. Allen is being held under $2.5 million bond. 

Rewards Offered -- The North Carolina Governor's Office has offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest or indictment in the death of Derek Carl Eddy Hodge II, who was found dead at his home on April 26, 2008. In addition, Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000, and the Hodge family is offering a reward of up to $3,000. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division at (336) 373-2255 or Crime Stoppers at (336) 373-1000.
