Public Fire Education
Flame and EmberThe Greensboro Fire Department has expanded its public education efforts in the last five years to better serve the residents of Greensboro. The Fire Department has employed a full-time clown (and we mean that in the nicest way) named Flame, who handles all elementary school education needs. Flame also has her sidekick, Ember, who accepts dog treats as payment. Ember, the dalmatian fire dog, does many tricks to help Flame teach children about fire safety.

To schedule your school for a visit by Flame and Ember, contact Mitzi Rice, Fire and Life Safety Educator, at 336-373-7834 or by filling out the e-mail form. She will be happy to assist you.
