Hester Park

Named in honor of Oka T. Hester, former director of the Parks & Recreation Department, Hester Park provides leisure recreation for people of all ages. The park features three soccer / football fields programmed by the Parks & Recreation Department, as well as eight lighted laykold tennis courts.

Area fishermen can enjoy a well-stocked lake, offered free to Guilford County residents age 12 and under and $1 for all other anglers (NC fishing laws apply). The fitness trail (1.3 miles) will challenge both the beginner and expert athlete with an extensive program of exercise and jogging. Trotter Center also offers a variety of programs, as well as sports camps.

  • Seven picnic shelters with grills, two playgrounds
  • Stocked fishing lake with four fishing piers  ($1 per person over 12 years of age) 
  • Walking trails (1.3 miles)
  • Four horseshoe pits
  • Two sand volleyball courts
  • Tennis leagues and instruction available
