2007 Detailed Crime Report
The Greensboro Police Department has recently published 2007 crime statistics. Police Chief Tim Bellamy says the statistics show little change between 2006 and 2007. However, he cautioned that the numbers cannot be used as a crutch for complacency. Bellamy has made commitments to focus the department’s resources on the reduction of crime in three key areas. Over the coming months, the Chief will attack the problems of domestic violence, crimes in which firearms are used, and juvenile contacts with criminal justice system, as a means to achieve an overall reduction in crime.
Chief Bellamy encourages and challenges residents to keep informed about criminal activity and to partner with the Police Department in keeping Greensboro safe.
