State and local governments across the nation are partnering with the federal government to address our current economic situation. Read the federal government's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
One way being pursued by many governments is the creation of economic stimulus projects designed to save or create jobs while rebuilding infrastructure, improving schools, and reducing dependence on oil.
The City Council has resolved to support federal economic stimulus projects and has established its own list of 62 stimulus priority projects. Meanwhile, the City administration -- with support from City Council -- is prepared to work with state and federal representatives to pursue available funding.
Please visit this site periodically for updates on the City's economic stimulus program. Also, follow funding activity online.
