Learn to Ride!
Due to vehicle availability and rising fuel prices, we are temporarily unable to provide Learn to Ride instruction on the GTA buses. We are happy to speak with you on-site about riding the bus and we can also provide DVDs on using the GTA bus system. Please call 412-6309 for additional information.

Community OrganizationsOrientations are tailored to your clients, staff, or group members
Your group will board a bus, ride the route to the J. Douglas Galyon Depot, 236 East Washington Street, tour the facility, and then board the bus to ride back to your pick-up location. Along the way, the following topics will be discussed:
- safety rules for riders
- recognizing bus stops
- how to use the farebox, and
- recognizing special bus features.
You will take back with you a few items, including route maps and schedules for the routes closest to your pick-up location to help make your training experience a memorable one.
All educational sessions are conducted during non-peak hours, either during the middle of a weekday or on the weekend.

SCAT Riders - Travel Training is also available upon request to persons who are mobility challenged. GTA will either bring the bus to your group, or schedule the training at the GTA facility. Participants are taught how to identify stops, read bus schedules, signal the driver to stop, and plan their trips. Participants are also given a one-on-one demonstration of the wheelchair lift and introduced to other special features of the bus. Interested persons should call 373-2166 to schedule a travel training session for SCAT riders.
