Glenwood Neighborhood Plan

Proposed Amendments to Glenwood Neighborhood Plan Future Land Use Map When the Glenwood Neighborhood Plan was adopted in February 2008, the High Point Road / West Lee Street Corridor Plan was still in development and it was understood that overlaps in the plans would be addressed. The Corridor Plan was adopted in December 2008 and collaboration between the Greater Glenwood Neighborhood Association and the City's Planning and Housing & Community Development departments has now produced a proposal to amend the Glenwood land use map to make it consistent with the Corridor Plan where boundaries overlap.
On January 21, 2008 the City's Planning Board recommended City Council approve this amendment. City Council did so during a public hearing at its regular meeting on March 3.
The proposed changes are illustrated in a series of maps. As these maps show, and as the table below summarizes, nearly all of the areas that will undergo a change in its future land use designation will change to the "Mixed Use Residential" category.
Note: Changes in the future land use category do not change the underlying zoning of these areas, do not prevent land owners from continuing the existing uses on their property, and do not prevent land owners from developing their property consistent with the current zoning classifications, even if that development would be inconsistent with the future land use category.

Glenwood Neighborhood Plan Formally Adopted
During a special meeting held on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, the Greater Glenwood Neighborhood Association adopted the Glenwood Neighborhood Plan. On Wednesday, January 16, 2008, the Greensboro Planning Board issued a unanimous recommendation in favor of the City Council adopting the Plan. GGNA presented the Plan during the Greensboro City Council's meeting on Tuesday, February 5. The Council voted unanimously to adopt the Plan, clearing the way for implementation, and providing the neighborhood with a valuable tool.
The adopted Glenwood Neighborhood Plan is available in digital form below. Because the complete Plan including maps is a large file (29 MB), it is also available without the maps, each of which may be downloaded individually:
