Hazardous Materials

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center
The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center, 2750 Patterson Street, accepts any products that are corrosive, reactive, ignitable, or toxic from Guilford County and City of Greensboro residents. Commercial, business, or industrial waste is not allowed. Housing
The Planning and Community Development Department is responsible for the City’s affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization, human services, and historic preservation programs. For more information, call 373-2349.

Housing Counseling Service
The Greensboro Affordable Home Loan Initiative (GAHLI) provides counseling, education, and financial assistance to low/moderate income first-time homebuyers. For more information, call the Department of Housing and Community Development at 373-4146.

Human Relations
The Human Relations Department works to secure mutual understanding and encourage fair treatment among all citizens of Greensboro. Kindermusik of Greensboro City Arts
Kindermusik encourages early learning and creativity in children from newborn to seven years of age, with an emphasis on process rather than performance. The City Arts program offers Kindermusik Village, Kindermusik Beginnings, Growing with Kindermusik, and Kindermusik for the Young Child. Lakes
The Parks & Recreation Department operates three public lakes that provide water-based and nature programs. All three lakes have boat ramps and pier fishing. Rowboats, kayaks, canoes, sailboats, and a pontoon boat may be rented at Lake Townsend. Rowboats, kayaks, and canoes are available for rent at Lake Brandt and Lake Higgins. The lakes also offer a variety of trails and environmental education programs for people of all ages. For more information, call:

Library
The Greensboro Public Library system provides library services to residents of Greensboro and Guilford County through a Central library, six branches, and a bookmobile. Livestock Players Booster Club
This tax-exempt membership club provides financial support for the Livestock Players Musical Theatre through fund-raising projects. For more information, call 373-2728.

Livestock Players Musical Theatre
The Piedmont’s only all-musical theatre group performs four Broadway musical shows each season. Auditions are open to anyone high school age through adult. Other Livestock Players opportunities include:
• Second Stage, an experimental theater program that gives experienced directors the chance to do the show they have always want to do and fledgling directors the chance to gain experience. Studio theater productions are performed at the Cultural Center in October, February, May, and August.
• The Show Choir sings to promote the Livestock Theatre at area events and for local organizations. Performances are free, with donations accepted. Enrollment is held annually and is open to anyone, high-school age through adults.
• The Youththeatre provides high-school age performers, technicians, and musicians opportunities to perform as part of the Livestock Players Musical Theatre. Auditions are held twice a year. No experience is needed to volunteer on stage or behind the scenes. For more information, call 373-2728.

Local Ordinance Enforcement
Local Ordinance Enforcement enforces local codes relating to abandoned vehicles and overgrown yards. Staff members also perform residential housing inspections and lot cleanup. For more information, call 373-2111.
