Mayor
The Mayor’s Office is located in the Melvin Municipal Office Building, 300 West Washington Street. The Mayor is a member of City Council, presides over Council meetings, and is the Council spokesperson. To reach the Mayor, call 373-2396.

McGirt-Horton Branch Library
The McGirt-Horton Branch Library, 2509 Phillips Avenue, features a home improvement section with tool lending services. For more information, call 373-5810.

Melvin Municipal Office Building (MMOB)
The Melvin Municipal Office Building (City Hall), 300 West Washington Street, is named for former Greensboro Mayor Jim Melvin and houses many of the City’s administrative offices. City Council meetings are held in the Council Chamber on the second floor of MMOB. Minority & Women’s Business Enterprise Program (MWBE)
The Minority & Women’s Business Enterprise (MWBE) program helps identify qualified minority- and women-owned firms to participate in City contracting, and seeks increased opportunities for those firms to provide goods and services to the City. For more information, call 373-2674.

Music for a Sunday Evening in the Park (MUSEP)
MUSEP is an outdoor concert series held in various parks around the City from June through August, featuring local groups from orchestras to concert bands, big bands to jazz, and pop oldies to rock n’ roll. City Park ’N Ride lots provide weekday parking for commuters who ride in carpools or vanpools. For more information, call 373-2332.

Parking
The Department of Transportation operates four downtown parking decks:

Parking tickets can be paid at the Collections division in the Melvin Municipal Office Building Plaza Level, 300 West Washington Street, 373-2503. Parking tickets may also be paid online. Complaints may be made to the Parking Enforcement section at 373-2648.

Parks & Recreation
The Parks & Recreation Department operates neighborhood and regional parks, walking trails, athletic fields, gardens, recreation centers, swimming pools, campgrounds, lakes, golf courses, tennis courts, cemeteries, Greensboro Farmers’ Curb Market, Tannenbaum Historic Park, and City Arts. The department offers leisure activities for people of all ages from athletics and cultural arts to programs for special populations, the Greensboro Youth Council, Senior Citizen programs, and special events. PART/RSVP
PART/RSVP, Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation/Ridesharing Services & Vanpooling of the Piedmont (formerly MUNICIPOOL), provides car and vanpooling matches and vehicles for residents of the Piedmont area. For more information, call 1-800-588-RSVP.

The Philharmonia is a community orchestra with wind, brass, and percussion vacancies filled by audition. Strings are heard for placement. For more information, call 373-2549.
 
Planning
The Planning and Community Development Department administers land development codes, enforces local land use and zoning codes, and advises and provides technical assistance to the Zoning Commission, Planning Board, and Board of Adjustment.
