History— ensure historical authenticity / accuracy

Special Events— coordinate citywide events, such as parades, festivals, and/or marathon races

Neighborhood and Community—coordinate with neighborhoods for small local events or neighborhood participation in larger events

Arts/Cultural Events—coordinate activities in the arts and cultural entertainment world associated with the Bicentennial

Education—coordinate with the school system and community to produce activities such as contests or historical site tours, etc.

Publicity and Public Relations—develop and manage all public relations activities such as media, advertising, marketing, website development, and logo design

Commemoration— develop a lasting symbol or mark on Greensboro

Fund Raising – organize and run efforts to secure donations and contributions

Budget and Finance – manage individual committee budgets and overall commission funds
