About District 3 District 3 is bordered on the north by Greensboro’s lakes and watersheds and along the east generally by North Church Street. The southern section of the district is bordered by West Friendly Avenue and the western part is generally bordered by Hobbs Road and US 220.
The district has a long history of being an important part of Greensboro's history. Of particular interest in this district are:
- Battleground Charter Academy – National Heritage Academies operates this private K-8 charter school at 4049 Battleground Avenue.
- Bicentennial Greenway – The 4.9-mile Bicentennial Greenway is a multiple-use trail that resulted from a collaborative effort between the City of Greensboro and Guilford County.
- Blanche S. Benjamin Library – The Benjamin Branch Library is located in the Guilford Hills neighborhood at 1530 Benjamin Parkway. It offers meeting space with seating capacity of 30-40 adults, a broad range of children's programming, and access to computers.
- Bog Garden – Along the 1.06 miles of Bog Garden trails, you will find an array of wetland flora, including trees, shrubs, wildflowers and fern species that thrive in wetland ecosystems. The Bog Garden also provides an excellent place for viewing wetland wildlife, such as migratory and indigenous birds.
- Bryan Park – Bryan Park provides year-round recreation, including golf, tennis, volleyball, soccer and other park activities. Some public and private instruction is available. Bryan Enrichment Center is available on a rental basis for private social events and seminars. All this can be found at 6275 Bryan Park Road.
- Bryan Park at Guilford County – Bryan Park at Guilford is in park with co-ownership between the City of Greensboro and Guilford County. The proposed park is to be located at the intersection NC Highway 150 and Doggett Road just north of the City.
- Bur-Mil Park – The 250-acre Bur-Mil Park provides a wide variety of recreational opportunities to Guilford County residents. Facilities include a clubhouse, picnic shelters, family aquatic center, wildlife education center, par 3 golf course, tennis courts, and hiking trails.
- Canterbury School – This private Episcopal school is at 5400 Old Lake Jeannette Road for students in grades K-8.

- Country Park – This park at 3902 Nathanael Greene Drive offers two stocked fishing lakes, pedal boats, three playgrounds, picnic shelters, a softball field, and trails for jogging, hiking and bicycling. A variety of events are hosted at this park including the annual Reenactment of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. BarkPark is located within Country Park which is a dedicated area where responsible pet owners and their off-leash dogs can gather for exercise and socialization.
- Forest Lawn Cemetery – The cemetery, open daily, 8 am until sunset, opened in 1928. It's 70 acres and is located off Pisgah Church Road adjacent to Jaycee Park.
- Greensboro Country Club – Greensboro Country Club is a member-owned, private club. The Greensboro Country Club is unique among private clubs in the Triad area by providing, in two magnificent settings, both fine and casual dining, golf, tennis, fitness and many of Greensboro’s most interesting people. Both the Irving Park and The Farm Club locations have their own very distinct charms. The Club offers its distinguished members the environment, facilities and services that satisfy their sports, social and business needs and interests.
- Greensboro Day School – Located at 5401 Lawndale Drive, this is a coeducational, college preparatory, non-sectarian independent school for students of average to superior ability in grades K-12.
- Guilford Courthouse National Military Park – This is the site of the battle between Major General Nathanael Greene and Lt. Gen. Charles, Earl Cornwallis. The battle fought at Guilford Courthouse was the largest and most hotly contested action of the Revolutionary War's Southern Campaign. It is considered the high-water mark of that campaign in that it changed the course of the war and contributed to the eventual American victory at Yorktown seven months later.
- Guilford Day School – Guilford Day School embraces student, welcoming those with disabilities, in a college preparatory program, grades 1 through 12 at 3310 Horsepen Creek Road.
- Guilford College – Guilford College has the distinction of being the only Quaker founded college in the southeastern United States. Originally opening in 1837 as New Garden Boarding School, the institution transformed itself into a four year liberal arts college in 1888. Guilford College continues to place its Quaker heritage at the center of its mission, though it has broadened its outlook beyond North Carolina and the Religious Society of Friends, to include students from a wide variety of faith traditions, regions, and life experiences and strives to educate creative leadership for the 21 century.
- Jaycee Park – A variety of sports facilities are available at this park, including the Stone-White Stadium for baseball, the J. Spencer Lowe Tennis Center with 13 championship courts, two volleyball/badminton courts and playground areas for children. This facility is located off Pisgah Church Road on Forest Lawn Drive.
- Lake Daniel Complex – Eleven million gallons of finished water (drinking water) is processed through the reservoir supply to the Mitchell Pumping station and water distribution system.

- Lakes and Watershed Parks – The City of Greensboro provides a variety of recreational activities for the public at our three water supply reservoirs. The Watershed Parks are located at Lake Higgins, Lake Townsend, and Lake Brandt and offer traditional outdoor activities, such as fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, hiking and picnicking. The Watershed Parks are surrounded by more than 36 miles of watershed trails. The trails provide a great opportunity to take in the natural scenery around the lakes, and are adorned with vibrant wildflowers, trees and wildlife.
- Lewis Recreation Center – This center, located at 3110 Forest Lawn Drive, is home to a wide variety of programs from basketball, dog obedience, bridge, Scottish and square dancing.
- Moses Cone Memorial Hospital – Located on a 63-acre campus at 1200 N. Elm Street, this 535-bed hospital is the largest medical center in our region, serving Greensboro since 1953.

- Natural Science Center – This hands-on museum features a zoo, an aquarium, a planetarium, educational programs, and an educational gift shop. Visitors can roam through a Dinosaur Gallery, see snakes and amphibians, learn about gems and minerals, and enjoy a petting zoo while at this center.
- Spears Family YMCA – The Alex W. Spears III Family YMCA offers a new facility and knowledgeable staff who can assist in many areas - YMCA programs such as aquatics, fitness and sports to healthy eating and living tips at 3216 Horsepen Creek Road.
- Tannenbaum Historic Park – Tannenbaum Historic Park tells the story of everyday life in the back country of North Carolina before, during and after the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Guilford Courthouse. The park preserves a remnant of the 150-acre farmstead of Joseph Hoskins, a constable, tax collector and sheriff. The NC Colonial Heritage Center houses historical exhibits, a diorama of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse and a gift shop. Each year, the park joins with the National Military Park to host the Anniversary Commemoration of the battle on the weekend closest to the 15th of March at Price Park.
