
Schedule Your Rental Property Inspection
Rental units must comply with the minimum housing code.
Beginning July 1, 2007, all rental property in the City of Greensboro must be inspected before it can be rented. Rental property will pass inspection if it is in compliance with the city’s minimum housing code. Once it passes inspection, a Rental Unit Certificate of Occupancy (RUCO) will be issued. Certificates are good for five years. To schedule an inspection, call the Building Inspections division at 373-2111.
Accreditation, Awards & Honors
City is recognized nationally for excellence in a variety of areas.
Greensboro government has been recognized in a variety of ways during the past few weeks:
- On October 11, Parks & Recreation became one of just 66 agencies in the country to receive national accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA).
- The Greensboro Historical Museum has been granted affiliate status by the Smithsonian Institution. Affiliate museums may use Smithsonian collections in their exhibitions, educational initiatives and research programs.
- The Greensboro Bicentennial Activity Book for Kids has received a Silver Circle from the City-County Communications & Marketing Association.
Field Operations Director Selected
Wyrick will lead the department that centralizes field services, such as trash collection and road maintenance.
Dale Wyrick has been selected as Director of the Field Operations Department. Wyrick has served as the Interim Director of the department since it was created in January 2006. He has worked for the City since 1994. The Field Operations Department consists of solid waste collection, right of way and street maintenance services. It was created in early 2006 in order to promote efficient delivery these important services thorough central management of the various resources included in these operations.
