Transfer Station Grand Opening

New transfer station

Household and business trash will be diverted from the landfill to the transfer station.

The grand opening of the City's new solid waste transfer station will be Wednesday, November 15 at 9 am at 6310 Burnt Poplar Road. With the opening of the transfer station, residential and commercial trash will be taken to the transfer station rather than the White Street Landfill and will be transported to the Uwharrie Landfill for disposal. The White Street Landfill will continue to accept construction debris and yard waste.

Bond Vote Results

Voters approved five of 11 City bond issues. 

Greensboro residents voted on 11 bond issues during the November 7 election. Five of the bonds  - fire stations, economic development, library facilities, Greensboro Historical Museum, and parks & recreational facilities – were approved.

Release of Forensic Testing Results

Testing determines which document was posted online. 

At its November 7 meeting, City Council approved the release of the findings from the forensic document testing completed by RMA to find the source of the leak of the RMA document to the media. Read the test results and Council's resolution here
