Latham Park Sewer Work Begins

Work will help reduce sewer overflows.

Right-of-way construction for the new sanitary sewer line is now underway in the Latham Park area off Tankersley Drive. The existing sewer line is being replaced with a larger pipe to help reduce sewer overflows. Stakes in the park define the new sewer right-of-way, and some trees are flagged for removal. The tree work will take place first. Digging for the sewer replacement will begin in a few months. Once the digging begins, the work is expected to take about one year. For more information, call 412-6314.

Apply for the NeighborWoods Program

Keeping Greensboro green, one neighborhood at a time.

Neighborhoods are invited to apply for the 2007 NeighborWoods program. The program provides NeighborWoods logotrees to Greensboro neighborhoods for planting to help replace those that have been damaged or lost. One neighborhood is chosen each year and residents help choose tree species, train volunteers, and select a tree-planting day. Applications are available on the City's website. The deadline to return applications is May 30.
