Engineering Division The Engineering Division provides roadway and utility design, surveying, property acquisition and management, contract administration, and construction inspections.
This division manages all of the City's roadway and utility construction projects, including engineering design, surveying, property management, contract preparation, utility conflict resolution, and construction inspections. Engineering is also responsible for the plan review and construction inspection of all private roadway and utility work scheduled to be accepted and maintained by the City of Greensboro.
The Property Management section is responsible for the acquisition of property rights (easements and rights-of-way) for all City construction projects and facilities. This section also manages the advertising and selling of any surplus City real estate and manage the leases on all of the City's rental properties. The Property Management Section provides property mapping and legal descriptions or the review of property mapping and legal descriptions on all City construction projects.
The Construction Inspections section inspects all public infrastructure improvements. All roadways, bridges, culverts, storm sewers, water and sanitary sewer improvements are inspected by this section. Our inspectors also rate the existing infrastructure to determine maintenance and repair priorities.
