On behalf of the men and women of the Greensboro Fire Department, I welcome you to our website.

The Greensboro Fire Department is a Class One rated Department. The National Insurance Services Office (ISO) rates communities and their available resources for responding to and controlling fires. Greensboro is the only community in North Carolina, and one of only 30 in the nation, to have a Class One rating.

This rating ensures our citizens of the very lowest possible fire insurance rates in the state. The difference between a Class Two and a Class One saves our community approximately $1.8 million in insurance premiums each year.
