Business and Operations
Performs administrative, budgetary and technological support services for the Transportation Department, along with all municipal parking, traffic signal, and street signs and markings operations. Also oversees the SafeLight red light camera program (currently suspended).

Engineering
Responsible for the operation of the Greensboro traffic signal system and the development and implementation of transportation improvement projects to enhance safety and reduce traffic congestion. Also reviews all major land-use changes to ensure compatibility with existing transportation system. Other responsibilities include the neighborhood traffic safety program, congestion management program, traffic safety program, traffic count program, and citizens' requests for traffic service.

Planning
Conducts short- and long-term transportation planning for Greensboro, including traffic, public transit, pedestrians and bicycles. Oversees City sidewalk petition program. Also serves as lead planning agency staff for Greensboro Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, coordinating transportation planning with NCDOT and most of the townships in Guilford County.

Public Transportation / GTA
Operates Greensboro Transit Authority, offering 24 routes and connectors serving the public seven days a week. Also provides shared-ride specialized transportation service for persons with disabilities. Plans for public transportation needs and implements new services as needed.
