The intersection of Battleground Avenue and New Garden Road has been identified for improvements by the Greensboro Department of Transportation (GDOT). Public meetings were held in 2004 to determine the course for public improvements along Battleground Avenue. As part of this study, it was recommended that an initial phase of the project should include improvements to the intersection of Battleground Avenue and Westridge Road.

GDOT has authorized this project for design, surveying and construction, and expects construction to begin in fall 2013.
