Battleground Avenue Project Planning Study

Battlegroud Public Meeting pictureThe Greensboro Department of Transportation recently completed a project planning study to guide the development of a project to improve Battleground Avenue between Westridge Road to the proposed Outer Loop (just north of Cotswold Avenue). This corridor was identified for improvement as part of the package of transportation improvements that were approved in the November 2000 bond referendum.

This segment of Battleground Avenue has experienced considerable growth in recent years and is operating near capacity. As part of this study, GDOT evaluated the safety and operational aspects of the corridor and developed short- and long-term recommended improvements based on public comment.

A series of public meetings was held to allow citizens an opportunity to help shape the project. The functional listed below represents the results of the analysis and public input as a part of this process. Please be aware that the final design may vary somewhat from this preliminary functional.
