High Point Road / West Lee Street Streetscape Project
GDOT has completed the High Point Road / West Lee Street Streetscape Project planning study, which recommends how to most effectively use the limited funds available for public investment and define a vision of the corridor that can be used to guide future public and private investment along the corridor. The functional plan documents are below.
The approved Streetscape Implementation Plan includes recommended phasing of improvements to High Point Road / West Lee Street from Veasley Street to Eugene Street. The study supports the City’s High Point Road / Lee Street Corridor Study (adopted in January 2009) and will serve as a guide for public and private investment for the corridor. The November 2008 Transportation Bond referendum passed by voters included $7.5 million for this project. Since then, two public meetings were conducted to gather feedback from residents about the plan.
