High Point Road / West Lee Street Streetscape Project

The November 2008 Transportation Bond referendum passed by voters included $7.5 million for a streetscape project. GDOT has begun a project planning study to recommend how to most effectively use the limited funds available for public investment, and define a vision of the corridor that can be used to guide future public and private investment along the corridor.

The purpose of the planning study is to develop a plan for aesthetic streetscape improvements to High Point Road / West Lee Street from Veasley Street to Eugene Street in support of the City’s High Point Road / Lee Street Corridor Study (adopted in January 2009). The plan will also incorporate context-sensitive streetscape elements that provide a unifying concept for the corridor.

Two public meetings have been conducted to get feedback from residents about the project. The latest information from those meetings can be seen below. Your continuing feedback is important to us. Contact Chris Spencer.
