Heat Service Ends for the SemesterThe end of the spring 2008 semester means the end of certain HEAT routes until the fall. The final service dates for affected routes are:
Route 74 - Thursday, May 8
Route 75 - Sunday, May 11
Routes 70,71,72,73,and 70 / 71 - Friday, May 16HEAT fare cards / student identification cards will continue to be accepted on all HEAT and GTA routes through Friday, May 16.
Many HEAT destinations can still be reached throughout the summer using GTA routes.

HEAT fall 2008 service will begin Monday, August 11.
Policy Change Regarding Use of HEAT Transit PassesEffective immediately, students using school-issued HEAT fare cards for passage on HEAT and GTA buses must show their current school identification card along with their HEAT pass. Anyone without the proper identification will be required to pay the appropriate cash fare or will be denied access to HEAT and GTA services.
Students should make sure their identification is current before attempting to board a bus and if necessary, contact their respective school for identification update or replacement.Students using appropriate school-issued identification for fare payment can continue to use the card for passage as normal.

New Service Animal Policy
The GTA Board has established a new policy regarding the use of service animals on all fixed-route and paratransit services. Review the policy.
GTA Budget Review Task Force Recommendations
A budget review task force for GTA has conducted a comprehensive review of GTA's current financial and operating conditions, service offerings and future budget and service needs. Comprised of City Council members and GTA Board Members, the task force has issued a final set of recommendations to the Mayor and City Council.
