Other Improvements
  • Revised bicycle route system – GDOT and NCDOT installed new signed bicycle routes in the City in fall 2007. Old bicycle route signage has been removed.
  • New bike map – The MPO worked with NCDOT to publish a new bike map in 2007 that provides an overview of road conditions and routes for bicycling. It includes roads, greenways, major destinations, and safety tips. The map also shows the suitability ratings of main roadways to help you create your own route. The map is available online now, or you can request a printed map.
  • Bicycle racks – GDOT installed 40 new bike racks around the City in 2007, both at new locations and to replace older racks. Tell us about a place on City property or within the public right-of-way that needs a bike rack!
