Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program

What is the MTIP?

The Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) is a detailed list of transportation projects that have federal and state funding. The list covers the next seven years and is a required planning document under federal law. Consistent with the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), the MTIP shows the funding schedule for highway, public transportation, rail, bicycle, and pedestrian facilities in the area.

The MPO's Transportation Advisory Committee adopted the most recent MTIP for the Greensboro Urban Area on August 27, 2008. NCDOT adopted its STIP for fiscal years 2009 through 2015 in July 2008 and is expected to amend it to include any changes shown in the FY 2009 - FY 2015 MTIP.
