Thanks to all attendees, sponsors, and vendors for a great conference! Over the course of the event, more than 300 individuals took part in the plenary, technical, and mobile sessions. We hope to see you at the 2008 conference November 12-14 in New Bern.

News

4/17/08 - The American Planning Association approved most of the conference sessions for AICP Certification Maintenance credits in January. MPO staff were recently able to access the credits successfully via the AICP website (directions below). The Airport/FedEx mobile tour and the Programming Resources session were not approved; APA stated it was not clear whether those sessions had clear planning-related training objectives. We have chosen not to appeal APA's decision at this time.

APA has provided the following directions for receiving your credits:

  • Access the log at APA's site. Once you are logged in, you will see a status report, the search area, and a box for reporting CM credits.

  • In the box, put the city the event was held in the City field. Then put the exact beginning date of the event (10-24-07) in the Events Since field. Leave the other two fields blank. Click on NC on the state map and click Search; wait. The conference should be listed near the top of the list.

  • If you search in this manner, you should be able to locate and click on a link to the activity, and then record CM credits in your log. To log in the credits, click the link, rate the event, verify, hit Add and then submit. You must do this for each session of the conference you attended.

  • After the first session you add, you will be taken to Pending CM Credit. Before hitting the final submit button, scroll down and verify attendance at the next session you went to. This is so you won't have to search for the event each time.

  • Please note: When searching, spelling is crucial and knowing the exact date will make it easier to search.
