Highway Traffic Noise Analysis
Analyses on major NCDOT projects along interstates and freeways are conducted to determine the effect of noise from expected future traffic. The analyses occur initially during the environmental impact or assessment documentation. Further detailed noise analyses follow during the construction design phase of project development. All noise analyses are performed by NCDOT and in accordance with Federal Highway Administration standards.
