Memories in the Making

People with memory loss are invited to participate in a creative hands-on workshop sponsored by Center for Creative Aging. A facilitator will lead participants through watercolor painting and storytelling inspired by the art.. Finished artwork may be donated for the November exhibition entitled “Elder Expressions” at the Central Library. Registration is requested by calling Lia Miller at (336) 253-0856. Don’t miss this entertaining and moving performance presented by the Community Theatre of Greensboro. In addition to a staged reading of passages from the novel, there will be music, poems and drama performed by SRO (Seniors Reaching Out), CTG’s talented ensemble of senior entertainers. And there will be a special appearance by Centerstage, CTG’s Premier Youth Performing Ensemble. Admission is free.

In these two sessions focusing on selected passages from the book, participants will explore provocative themes of a spiritual nature. What “remains” when mind and memory are stolen by dementia? How do we continue to connect and honor the essence of spirit, that which is unchangeable, despite the physical ramifications of disease?
