Organizations throughout our community provide services and support to businesses and entrepreneurs in the form of expert advice, educational programming, mentorship, networking opportunities and financial assistance. The Small Business Consortium is a group of organizations that work together to help businesses achieve success.
The Greensboro Public Library Business Advantage offers educational programs, free access to premium online resources and individual, personalized assistance with the Business Librarian, who can help you locate and use print and online resources.
Greater Greensboro Merchants Association
Provides its business members with workshops, networking events, cooperative advertising discounts, marketing support, and volunteer programs.
GTCC Small Business Center
Offers courses and seminars, computer classes and free business counseling.
Minority and Women's Business Enterprise
Maintains a list of certified women- and minority-owned businesses which is provided to City departments, contractors, consultants and other businesses interested in soliciting proposals or bids from M/WBE companies.
Piedmont Triad Entrepreneurial Network
Supports entrepreneurs through education, access to capital and networking. Monthly meetings rotate among Triad cities.
S.C.O.R.E. (Service Corps of Retired Executives)
Confidential counseling sessions, low cost workshops and email counseling provided by volunteers with vast experience and knowledge.
Self Help Credit Union
Provides loans to new and expanding small businesses.
Downtown Greensboro, Inc.
Directs a comprehensive economic development program to strengthen downtown Greensboro.
East Market Street Development Corporation
Leads the revitalization of the East Market Street corridor.
Greensboro Chamber of Commerce
Offers educational programs and networking opportunities to the business community. Also, partners with local banks to provide the Greensboro Venture Capital Loan Fund, which was created to stimulate an increase in jobs and economic activity in our area.
