Getting a Library Card

There is no charge for a library card. Library Card

To apply for a library card, you must show a form of identification, such as a driver's license or checkbook, or piece of mail that has your current Guilford County address. Children from 4-14 years old must have a parent or guardian sign for their library card.

Residents from surrounding counties are eligible for Greensboro Public Library cards.

You must present your library card when borrowing materials. When picking up materials for someone else, his or her card must be presented in order to complete the transaction. 

Replacement library cards can be obtained with a valid photo ID for $1.

Your library card allows you to borrow materials from all seven public library locations in Greensboro and to remotely access many premium online resources.
