The Greensboro Public Library participates in the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program, a national cooperative service that allows us to borrow books from other libraries for use by our customers.

Guidelines for making an ILL request:

  • If the requested material has been published within the last calendar year, please fill out the "Suggest A Purchase" form instead of the ILL request.
  • Audiovisual materials cannot be borrowed through interlibrary loan.
  • If the requested material is available at another participating library within Guilford County, you will be referred to them directly. Referrals to the NC A&T and UNCG libraries require a form signed by a librarian.
  • ILL is available to anyone who has had a GPL card for at least six months and whose card is free of fines and lost book charges.
  • ILL is available through the GPL only to people who live in Guilford County. If you live outside Guilford County, contact your county library system about interlibrary loan. Residents of High Point should contact the High Point Public Library.
  • College students and personnel should contact the library at their institution.
  • All requested items must be picked up from and returned to the Circulation Desk at Central Library, 219 North Church Street. Items cannot be sent to library branches.
