Computer Access at the Library
All locations of the Greensboro Public Library (GPL) offer free computer use. A library card is required to use the computers. Visitors who are ineligible for a free library card are allowed to use a temporary card with a valid ID. Users are allowed one one-hour session per day, with an option of a second hour if no one is waiting.
Printing is available from all workstations with the purchase of a print card, which can be used at all GPL locations.
At Central Library Cost for a print card is $1. You may add value to the card in increments of $1. Printed pages are 10 cents each.
At All Branch Libraries Cost of a print card is $2 for 20 copies and $6 for 60 copies.
Access to the floppy drive and USB port is available at most work stations, but not all. If you need to save your work, be sure you are at a workstation that has an available storage drive. All documents in the public folder are deleted daily.
You may only download to your floppy or portable USB drive. You may not download anything to a library computer. You may not load any software onto the library computers.
