The owners of the property of the birthplace of O. Henry (William Sydney Porter); located at 426 West Market Street, Greensboro, N. C.

1.) I. J. W. Lindsay owned the lot in 1838.

2.) I. J. W. Lindsay deeded the lot to Sidney Porter (Grandfather of O. Henry) on December 20, 1838. Recorded in Book 24, Page 69.

3.) Then, Lina M. Porter, administratrix of Ruth C. Porter (Wife of Sidney Porter and Grandmother of O. Henry) deeded it to J. M. Worth on September 20, 1892. Recorded in Book 89, Page 433.

4.) J. M. Worth deeded it to A. W. Vickory on February 19, 1898. Reoorded in Book 111, Page 224.

5.) A. W. Vickory deeded it to A. M. Scales on May 12, 1920. Recorded in Book 344, Page 509.

6.) A. M. Scales deeded it to W. D. Myer on April 10, 1923. Recorded in Book 413, Page 209.

7.) W. D. Myer deeded it to Greensboro Masonic Temple Company on August 12, 1927. Recorded in Book 568, Page 570.

8.) There is no record showing that Dr. Algermon [sic] Sydney Porter (father of O. Henry) ever owned the property.
