Barbecue Lunch and Book Signing At The Library

GREENSBORO, NC (March 2, 2010)--- A North Carolina barbecue restaurant figures prominently in the plot of Sarah Addison Allen’s new book, The Girl Who Chased the Moon. And, barbecue will be the featured menu item when Allen stops by the Greensboro Public Library for a book signing event. The event will be held at noon Wednesday, March 17, at the Central Library, 219 N. Church St. Enjoy a luncheon featuring barbecue from Country Barbeque, Stamey’s Barbecue and Prissy Polly’s. For those who may prefer, a vegetarian entrée is offered.

Born and raised in Asheville, Allen is a New York Times bestselling author of two previous novels Garden Spells and The Sugar Queen. As a kid, her career aspiration was to ride on the back of a garbage truck, but she later earned a B.A. in Literature and, much to the delight of her readers, became a writer instead.

Cost for the lunch is $7 and reservations are required. Register by Monday, March 15, with Beth Sheffield at 336-373-3617.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Greensboro Public Library and Barnes & Noble.
