Reception & Book Signing with Justin Catanoso

Justin Catanoso, Pulitzer Prize nominated journalist and executive editor of Triad Business Journal, will read and sign copies of his book My Cousin the Saint: A search for Faith, and Miracles.

At the time Justin started his book he was a “mostly lapsed, mostly doubtful” Catholic. He was a man struggling to understand his heritage and whose spiritual life was little more than an afterthought. Then he went on a journalistic quest to find out about his grandfather’s late cousin, Padre Gaetano Catanoso. The Padre had been beatified by Pope John Paul II and was one step away from being canonized as a saint. In Italy Justin heard first hand stories that credit Padre Gaetano Catanoso with miracles. One of the questions Catanoso seeks to answer is, “Why would a family saint answer some prayers for healing and not others?” Justin learns along the way that some answers come from above and some come from within.

James Martin, author of My Life with the Saints and frequent commentator for the New York Times and National Public Radio says, "A glorious book! Part spiritual journey, part detective story, part travelogue, Justin Catanoso's engrossing new memoir shows how discovering God always leads to discovering yourself. His quest to learn about his saintly cousin leads him to a fuller and richer understanding of his faith, his family, and, ultimately, himself."

Join the Greensboro Public Library for a special presentation and book signing by this fine Greensboro writer. A reception will follow.
