Success Coaching Series for Men Offered at Greensboro Public Library

GREENSBORO, NC (January 12, 2009) -- Former North Carolina A&T professor Dr. Simon Whittaker will be contributing his talents to lead an innovative project for Greensboro men. The Men’s Accountability Group will help foster ongoing support, development, and growth to men who are aspiring to transition from good to great in their lives. Dr. Whittaker states, “As a member of the Greensboro community, I wanted to be of service by helping people enhance their life skills and employment readiness, especially during these times when many people are in financial or career transitions.”

Monthly sessions will take area men through a variety of lessons. The first meeting on Monday January 26 will be an orientation for the series titled “Setting the Path for Greatness: Identifying Mission/Vision/Goals.”

Dr. Whittaker continues, “By the completion of this program, the participants will be able to use specific techniques to identify and follow through on their professional and personal goals, use technology as a tool to identify and maintain employment, use leadership communication skills, and identify appropriate individuals and resources for ongoing personal and professional development.”

Meetings are held every fourth Monday of the month from 6 pm-8 pm at the Central Library. Participants must sign a confidentiality statement in order to be a part of the group. This year-long series may be taken in its entirety or as independent sessions.
