One City, One Book ocobwebgif
What if everyone in Greensboro read the same book...and then set out to build a stronger community? Every other year, the Greensboro Public Library along with many partners, leads a city-wide reading of a selected title. Lively programs of discussion, films, theatrical productions, readings, and more are held to engage the entire community in the theme of the chosen book. The next One City, One Book will be held in Fall 2010. The book selection process is underway. Visit the archive of Past Projects for more information about each selection.

Poetry GSO was conceived in April 2003 by the Greensboro Public Library with many community partners who shared a common desire to promote and celebrate poetry. Each April, the library leads the community in a celebration of all forms of poetry, verse, spoken word and rhyme, featuring local talent and internationally known artists. For more information, visit Poetry GSO's website.

Summer Reading Club
Each year June through August, the Library hosts a reading incentive program to encourage kids of all ages to keep reeding through the summer. Reading logs are distributed for kids to record their own personal reading goals, and the titles they have read. Participants are encouraged to bring in their reading logs throughout the summer to recieve small prizes. Every week the library hosts dozens of fun and educational programs to make library visits exciting and memorable. Learn more about the Summer Reading Club at Greensboro Public Library's Kid's Page.
