Athletics
Youth and adult athletic programs teach sportsmanship and teamwork in a fun and safe environment. Sports include baseball, softball, football, soccer, lacrosse, swimming and cheerleading.

Picnic Shelter Rentals
Plan your next picnic at one of our regional parks, Lake Brandt or Lake Higgins. Online reservations are available from January through December.


City Arts
City Arts offers concerts and year-round instruction for all ages in dance, drama, music and the visual arts. Also, Caldcleugh Multicultural Arts Center offers culturally-diverse programs.

Sports Facilities Enjoy year-round sports at the Greensboro Sportsplex, Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion and the Carolyn S. Allen Community Park & Athletic Complex.


City Beautiful
Greensboro Beautiful Inc., Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden, Greensboro Arboretum, Bog GardenGateway Gardens, feature environmental and beautification programs, as well as special events.
 Watershed ParksLake Higgins, Lake Brandt and Lake Townsend offer boating, fishing, environmental programs and special events.
 

Greensboro Farmer’s Curb Market
Open year-round, the market offers fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade baked goods, dried flowers, crafts and special events.


Golf Courses
Area golfers can tee it up at Gillespie Golf Course, Bryan Park or the Bur-Mil Park par-3 golf course and driving range.


Tennis Centers
Tennis instruction, clinics and leagues for all ages are available at staffed tennis centers, which include Spencer Love, Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion, Latham Park and Memorial Stadium Tennis Center.
 Swimming PoolsIndoor and outdoor City pools offer classes, lap swimming, public swimming, swim teams and American Red Cross classes. In the summer, visit Bur-Mil Park’s Family Aquatic Center.

Seniors
Area seniors, 55 years and up, can enjoy programs, trips and free exercise classes, as well as the outstanding fitness gym and indoor pool at Smith Senior Center.


MainStream Resources
Offers programs for residents with special needs including, but not limited to, mental, physical and visual impairments. Camp Joy offers summer fun for campers, ages 5 and older.

Teen ProgramsGet involved in year-round programs of Greensboro Youth Council, Youth First at Folk Teen Center, and the City Arts Livestock Players Youth Theatre.


CemeteriesThese four City cemeteries provide a variety of services such as interments, pre-arranged services and perpetual care: Green Hill, Forest Lawn, Maplewood and historic Union Cemetery.
