Bur-Mil Park Marketing Internship
This intern will work closely with the program coordinator to help with marketing efforts for upcoming programs. The intern will assist with the development of a marketing plan, write press releases, design flyers, assist with public speaking engagements, and assist with website updates. This intern should have good customer service skills, basic computer skills, and good written and verbal skills. This internship / practicum is unpaid and offers educational credit and experience only. Cross-training in other areas of the park is possible. This schedule is mostly weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm, but may require some nights and weekends as needed.
Greensboro Parks and Recreation - Trails and Greenway Section Intern
This intern will learn all aspects of trails and greenway development including mapping, construction and maintenance, and GPS and programming support. This intern will rotate through a variety of sites including the Watershed Parks. The intern should have good customer service skills, good written and verbal skills, basic computer skills (primarily Word and Excel), and be willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Experience with GIS or GPS systems would be helpful. Hours may be counted towards educational credit at the discretion of your internship advisor. The Guilford Battleground Company
This internship will involve working for the nonprofit support group for Tannenbaum Historic Park and Guilford Courthouse National Military Park. The intern will perform clerical tasks, grant writing, interpretation, and customer service. The intern should have good customer service skills, good written and verbal skills, basic computer skills (primarily Word and Excel), and be willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Experience with interpretation, history, or preservation would be helpful. This position is unpaid for 20-40 hours a week. Parks, Gardens, and Program Support Administrative Intern
This intern will work with Parks and Recreation in the areas of marketing, website development, clerical duties, and other administrative tasks. This internship will include a rotation in each of the regional parks. The intern should have good customer service skills, good written and verbal skills, basic computer skills (primarily Word and Excel), and be willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
