Camp Joy Activity Center

Each summer, the Camp Joy Activity Center is used as the day camp site for children and adults with special disabilities. This seven-week day camp is operated by the Mainstream Resources Unit of the Greensboro Parks & Recreation Department. Campers enjoy arts, crafts, swimming, music and nature studies. The Camp Joy Activity Center may be reserved from September through May for corporate retreats, birthday parties, weddings, wedding receptions, holiday gatherings and family reunions. This facility can seat up to 80 guests, and tables and chairs can be arranged to meet the needs of your group. A small kitchen is available for warming foods.The facility is heated and cooled and has a fireplace to add a central point for warmth and beauty.

Reservations for the Camp Joy Activity Center may be made by calling the Hagan-Stone Park office at 336-674-0472. Reservations may be made as far as one year in advance. Call for fees and availability.

Swimming Pool

The Camp Joy Swimming Pool is open from Memorial Day through mid-August. Hours for public use vary due to the scheduling of the day camp. Once the hours for 2010 have been established, they will be listed on the Hagan-Stone Park home page. Children's swimming lessons are offered throughout the summer months and you can register for the lessons by calling the park office at 336-674-0472 or once the pool opens at 336-674-5943. In addition to the public swim hours, the pool can also be reserved for private pool parties. Come out and enjoy the cool water of the Camp Joy Pool.
