Commission Member Contact Information
On November 7, 1933, the Greensboro City Council passed an ordinance that created the first Recreation Commission. The Commission became instrumental in forming the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department. Today, this nine-member commission serves in an advisory capacity to the Parks and Recreation Department and the Greensboro City Council, and as a liaison between these groups and Greensboro residents. The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Commission meets the second Wednesday of each month. Meetings are open to the public.
