Keeley Park Development

Project Description:
This project will develop Keeley Park, one of Greensboro's newest community parks. Located on Keeley Road off Rankin Mill Road in Northeast Greensboro, the property was formerly the home of the Department’s nursery operations.
In 2006 the master planning process was completed. Three public input meetings were held to gather information regarding the needs and desires of citizens.
As a result, project elements include:
Phase I
Playground/sprayground area with restroom/concession facility
Community garden area with shelter/restroom facility and small playground unit
trails and picnic shelters
improvements to existing ponds
Phase II
Pinwheel baseball/softball complex
Associated infrastructure
Review the master plan.
Project Timeline:
Construction for Phase I is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2008. Completion of Phase I is anticipated in winter of 2009.
Special Notes:
Park elements beyond Phase II include a corporate picnic shelter, a dog park, disk golf course, horseshoe pits and volleyball courts.
