Swimming Pool Rules - printer-friendly version
The City of Greensboro swimming facilities are governed by the Guilford County Health Department. Other rules and guidelines not listed on this site may be found in the swimming pool policy manual, located at the Greensboro Park and Recreation administrative office and each pool office.
Special Situations Inclement Weather Policy - The Smith and Grimsley High School pools are closed if the Guilford County Schools are close due to inclement weather. For detailed information on any facility, please call directly to that facility. If thunder and lightning is spotted, lifeguards will require that swimmers get out of the pool. If there is no thunder and lightning for 30 minutes following the last occurrence, swimmers will be allowed back into the pool.
Bodily Fluids - If bodily fluids or bodily waste get into the pool, Guilford County Health Department guidelines require the pool to shut down, treat the pool water and filter the pool water for a time period specified by the staff before it can reopen.
