Alexander Technique

One weekend per month, September-May
Alexander Teacher Robin Gilmore
This is a three-year certification program in the Alexander Technique. Trainees meet one weekend per month in Greensboro and attend other workshops and classes throughout the country. Prerequisite: 20 hours of Alexander Technique study and an interview with Robin Gilmore.

African Dance Technique

Capoeira

Capoeira ClassGroup D’Oxala introduces youth ages 5 and up to the art and culture of Brazil through Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial arts / dance form. Students learn about Capoeira history and movements, instrumentation, and Portuguese.

Classical Indian Dance

Indian Dance InstructorBharata-natyam, classical Indian dance, is a beautiful art form that combines rhythmic footwork with expressive hand gestures and facial movements. It's an ancient art, coming from the great temples of India.

Improvisation and Choreography Workshop Jams
Two Saturdays per month

Shape Shifters in actionImprovisations are open to area movers. Time at the end of sessions will be reserved for participants to review generated material that might be used in choreographic projects. Choreography workshops are open to members and will offer time for artists to receive feedback on works-in-progress or use as open studio time.

Irish Dance
Tuesdays: 5-6:30 pm for novice / prizewinner / championship class and 6:30-7:30 pm for adult class
Wednesdays: 3:30-4:14 pm for beginner class, 4:15-5:30 pm for advanced beginner class, 5:30-6:30 pm for figure / team class, 6:30-7:45 pm for novice class, and 7:45-9:00 pm for prizewinner / championship class

Walsh Kelley School of Irish DanceIn these traditional Irish step dance classes, students will have the opportunity to perform, compete, make new friends, and have fun while being provided with the finest instruction of Irish dance. Our mission is to help you find the Irish dancer in you.

Nia Instructor - Cynthia WolfeNia is a unique combination of the dance arts, martial arts, and healing arts. It's a free-flowing movement class done to music with great benefits to cardiovascular health, agility, emotional and spiritual well-being, and creativity. Nia is appropriate for a wide range of ages, personalities, and fitness levels.

Positive Power Pact Group Fitness
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 12:30-1:30 pm

Poer Fitness ClassThis is a workout to fit your mid-day needs. It features one-hour of abdominal exercises and relaxing stretching. Come join us to start or maintain your fitness goals.

Salsa Babies
Latin Beat for tiny feet!
Woman dancing with babyWith the little ones snuggled into baby carriers, new moms learn basic steps to popular Latin Dances, while babies shake maracas and bounce along to the Salsa beat.
Salsa Babies offers a great workout, a chance to socialize with other parents, and an opportunity to introduce one's child to music and movement. Not to mention, it's perfect for people who have always wanted to learn to dance, but could never convince their partner to take lessons!
Classes are appropriate for babies approximately 6-8 weeks of age and up, as long as you are comfortable supporting your baby in a carrier for the duration of the class (45 minutes).
All levels of fitness and dance experience are welcome!

Salsa Dancing

Salsa DancersAlways felt as if you having two left feet? Not anymore! Come and learn some salsa moves. It's not just a dance, it's a great way to socialize, make new friends, do something together with your significant other or meet someone who might become one. So come and dance with us! A partner is not required. No tennis shoes, shoes with rubber soles or flip-flops allowed. New sessions start the first Monday of each month. 

$40 per month or $12 per drop-in.

Swing dancersThe Swing of Things offers ongoing weekly lessons in authentic partnered swing dancing specializing in Jitterbug, Lindy Hop, Charleston, and Balboa social dances. You will learn the elements of partnered movement, meet new people, exercise, and have fun...all at the same time!

Bachata dancersThis sexy and romantic dance, is one of the most popular Latin dances in the world. Bachata originated in the Dominican Republic and quickly became very popular in Europe, North America and Australia. Partners hold each other close and sway to the music. Come join us and learn some sexy moves, listen to a few Bachata songs, and dance the night away. No experience needed and a partner is not required. For more information, call 336-339-9715.

World Dance Exchange
Thursdays, 7:30-9:30 pm

World DancersGet a passport to international dance traditions with introduction, ongoing, and master classes in dances from Brazil, Latin America, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the US.

World Dance Exchange, whose mission is to celebrate and promote the diversity of international dance within the Triad area, offers a range of classes and socials that spotlight a different culture each month. Come dance with us and join in the fun! 

$28 for four classes or $8 for one class.



Yoga with Nancy
Mondays, 11 am - 12:30 pm

Yoga InstructorThe classes are primarily Astanga yoga except for Wednesday mornings, which are yoga flow classes. Beginners are welcome to all classes.
