City Beautiful Division

For more than 40 years, the Greensboro Parks & Recreation Department has enjoyed a unique partnership with Greensboro Beautiful Inc., a nonprofit volunteer organization whose mission is to conserve and enhance the beauty and ecology of our community through public and private cooperation. This partnership is coordinated through the City Beautiful Division of the Greensboro Parks & Recreation Department.

The City Beautiful staff work closely with Greensboro Beautiful’s volunteer Greensboro Beautiful Board/Advisory Board to accomplish the organization’s mission and goals. In addition, the Landscape Management and Park Maintenance Divisions work with City Beautiful staff to implement and maintain many of Greensboro Beautiful’s citywide landscaping projects.

The projects and programs of Greensboro Beautiful and City Beautiful include:

• Greensboro’s Public Gardens
  • Greensboro Arboretum
  • Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden and David Caldwell Historic Park
  • Bog Garden
  • Outdoor Wedding Reservations
    and the newly-planned Gateway Gardens
