GYC Leadership Trainings
The Greensboro Youth Council (GYC) offers leadership trainings to expose Guilford County high school students to areas that will make them better community leaders. To receive certification, students must participate fully in eight of the twelve options throughtout the school year. Classes are offered to any interested high school or home-school student in Guilford County. Below are the times and dates for the training offered for the 2009-2010 year.
Fall 2009 Leadership Trainings:
- Big Sweep: Saturday, September 19, 9:30 am to 12 noon
- Healthy Living: Tuesday, September 22, time TBA**
- Public Speaking: Tuesday, October 13, 6:30-8 pm
- Mayor's Teen Summit: Monday, October 26, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
- Tree Planting: Saturday, November 7, time TBA
- Cooking Training: Wednesday, November 11, time TBA **
- Sexual Attitudes: Saturday, November 21, 10 am to 12 noon
Spring 2010 Leadership Trainings:
- Jail Tour: Tuesday, January 19, time TBA **
- Sexual Attitudes: Saturday, February 13, 10 am to 12 noon
- Sign Language: Tuesday, February 23, 6:30 to 7:30 pm
- Banking and Finance: Tuesday, March 9, 6:30 to 7:30 pm
- Career and Summer Jobs: Saturday, March 13, time TBA
- Big Sweep: Wednesday,March 31, 1-3 pm

**These trainings require registration due to a limited number of spaces available. Please use the email link below to register for the trainings. Be sure to include the student's name and phone. Registration for trainings will occur the week prior to the training.
