Youth Leadership Greensboro
Youth Leadership Greensboro (YLG) is a program of the Greensboro Youth Council (GYC) and the Leadership Greensboro Alumni Association of the Chamber of Commerce. The program provides high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors the opportunity to improve their leadership skills by participating in a variety of activities that give them an in-depth look at community issues and concerns.
Participants attend five day-long sessions on the following topics:

Program Description: Each session teaches youth about community issues and problems. Sessions are designed to educate students how to become better leaders through discussion with City and County officials, media personalities and publication representatives, members of the police and sheriff’s departments, and large businesses.
Requirements: Participants are required to attend all-day sessions, complete 10 hours of volunteer service, and conduct a group field study project on a current local problem.
Applications: Applications are available online, at high school guidance offices, and by mail. Each year, YLG only accepts 36 high school students and home school students.
